5 ways to take your "SELF LOVE" to a new level

We have all heard of the notion of self love and body love but how can we actually incorporate this into our daily lives.

5 Simple practices that you can do today to that will move you closer to loving your body & yourself!

1. PRACTICE GRATITUDE

Create a daily ritual of writing out three things that your body does for you. When we write out gratitude for what our body can currently do it, becomes our attitude and over time it will change the way you see your body. When you practice appreciation for what you have already the universe responds and amplifies. Overtime you will start to realise the amazing body that you have been given. If you find it difficult to come up with three things, start small. For example; I am grateful that I have 10 toes and 10 fingers, I am grateful that my body is strong enough to get out of the bed

2. FILL UP YOUR "SELF LOVE CUP" DAILY

Do something every single day that will make you feel good in the moment this is something that completely makes your feel pleasure in the moment. For example; a 10min meditation, bubble bath instead of shower, 20min brisk walk in nature, sitting outside under tree, eating a piece of chocolate, getting a massage, calling a friend that you haven’t spoken to in a long time.

3. MOVE YOUR BODY JUST FOR FUN

Choose a method of exercise that you enjoy doing, if you cant think of anything that comes to mind think back to what your loved doing when you were younger. Was it climbing trees? Dancing? Playing hopscotch? Whatever it is spend time moving your body this way. Children just move for fun, but when we get older we forget to do this. If we dread exercise & think we have to do because its good for us or to reshape our body to look a certain way it can act as a form of punishment instead of enjoyment. When we let go of the concept that we have to get a result at the end of the exercise and just move for fun all sorts of cool things happen. According to the experts some of the benefits are that we release happy endorphins into our body & come into a state of creative flow where we become problem solvers and increase mind clarity, just to name a few. So start moving your body for FUN and see for yourself.

4. REALLY LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR

Chances are you probably look at your self in the mirror everyday, to apply makeup, pick a pimple or scrutinise your skin. But have you ever just looked at yourself in the mirror and gazed deep into your own eyes? Sounds confronting right? And maybe even a little boastful? But this is a beautiful practice of self-love and self-acceptance. Next time you are in front of a mirror take a moment to really look at yourself and gaze deep into your own eyes. Acknowledge the wonder that you are; a powerful, capable, breathing, living human, full of endless possibilities.

5. MINDFULNESS EATING

Mindfulness eating is a practice whereby you tune in and become present to feeding your body from a place of consciousness and love . The two basic principles are that you eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. To start this practice focus your food on ATTENTION and INTENTION. Firstly, you eat with the “attention” of noticing the nourishing foods and enjoying the food you eat and the effects that it has on your body. The second focus is eating with the “intention” of caring for you. When you become mindful of what you eat you only ever want to feed your body the best possible nourishment and become aware of when you are over feeding it.
